Do Search for file with Gnome-Do

GNOME Do allows you to quickly search for many objects present in your GNOME desktop environment (applications, Evolution contacts, Firefox bookmarks, files, artists and albums in Rhythmbox, Pidgin buddies) and perform commonly used commands on those objects (Run, Open, Email, Chat, Play, etc.).

Get hardware Information with lshw (list hardware)

lshw is a small tool to extract detailed information on the hardware configuration of the machine. It can report exact memory configuration, firmware version, mainboard configuration, CPU version and speed, cache configuration, bus speed, etc. on DMI-capable x86 or IA-64 systems and on some PowerPC machines (PowerMac G4 is known to work).

Gdm Face Browser — Simple Point and Click USer Selection

Ubuntu developers are working on a login feature for gnome desktop, which looks a lot like windows xp login screen, called “Gdm Face Browser”. This is still in it’s early planning stage, and perhaps we could see it in the next installation of Ubuntu (Hardy Heron).
