dumpe2fs prints the super block and blocks group information for the filesystem present on device. The program itself is very small, but gives out an huge amount of information about your filesystem. To capture all the information I suggest either pipe it to a text file of less command to view one screen at a time. The first screen ussualy provides all the information one could probably need. Works on both ext2/ext3 filesystem.
