How To Install Skype in Ubuntu 16.04/16.10

Install Skype in Ubuntu 16.04/16.10

To install Skype on Ubuntu, it will first be necessary to execute the following command to install the canonical repository of the provider:

sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ $(lsb_release -sc) partner"

If we are using Ubuntu 64 bits it will be required that we enable the i386 architecture for the optimal functioning of Skype, for this we will use the following command:

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

We update the system packages using the command:

sudo apt-get update

We perform the Skype installation process by executing the following command:

sudo apt-get install skype
