In the last couple of weeks there has been some beta release of popular opensource application including the upcoming ubuntu and Mythbuntu releases.

Ubuntu 8.04 Beta, which is scheduled to release on April 2008 has given us a beta version to play with. You can download it and get more information about it in ubuntu wiki: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardyHeron/Beta

Alternate Install Disks

• With this release, we are again providing Alternate Install disks. As with all Ubuntu Alternate Disks, this disk does not include the Live environment, but instead uses a text-based installer. This disk is available on official Ubuntu mirrors (linked below)

Stability

• Lots of bug fixes across the board in Ubiquity and Mythbuntu Control Centre.
• Several MythTV bugs that were sent upstream got fixed.

Diskless support

• Diskless support is now in Beta. The MCC interface for it is now available, but documentation still needs to be written. If you experience problems with the MCC interface or with Mythbuntu-diskless in general, go here:

Wine 0.9.57 was released, with the following main changes:

• Support for multiple OpenGL pixel formats.
• Improved support for color profiles.
• Many window management fixes.
• Better fullscreen support.
• Lots of bug fixes.
