Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope updates its look in a major way. Its a big news because Ubuntu developers have always been reluctant to change the way it looks and for the longest time it had the same brownish “Human-theme”. Now Jaunty boasts three new theme and it is not decided yet which will be the default theme. These themes have been around for some time, “Dust Sand”, “Dust” and “New Wave”; but if you wanted to use it you had to do it manually. Which is not a problem if you know your way around installing a new theme.

The latest update also gets a new Boot Splash and Desktop Artwork.

I really like the path Ubuntu designers are taking, considering the fact that according to Mark Shuttleworth we will really start to see design improvements from Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala.
