How To Increase Mouse Cursor Size in Ubuntu
How to make the size of the mouse cursor bigger in Linux, Mac or Chrome in a simple way.
Increase Cursor Size in Ubuntu 16.04
In the case that we want to change the cursor in Linux environments, in this case, Ubuntu, 16.04 we have two options:
The first option consists in executing the following line in the terminal indicating at the end of it the desired size for the cursor:
dconf write /org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size 60
The second alternative is to install the configuration editor by executing the following command:
sudo apt install dconf-tools
Once installed, we access it and go to the next route:
Org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size
We click on the cursor-size line and in the expanded window we enter the desired value.
Now apply the changes.
I have poor eyesight and the small cursor has given me problems for a long while. I’m not tech savvy. I’ve managed to install the editor thing and change the size to 60. don’t know how to apply the changes, tried pressing enter and that seemed to work. Entering the line Org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size in the terminal didn’t do anything, came back No such file or directory. Problem is I can get the bigger cursor when I change it to 60 but it doesn’t stick, after I shut down and restart it goes back to small, is there a way to make it permanent please.
sudo apt install dconf-tools

dconf-tools is already the newest version (0.24.0-2).
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
libappindicator1 libindicator7
Use ‘sudo apt autoremove’ to remove them.

[email protected]:~$ Org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size
bash: Org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size: No such file or directory
[email protected]:~$ ^C

… How do you ‘access’ the line below —???
Once installed, we access it and go to the next route:
Org/gnome/desktop/interface/cursor-size
dconf-tools doesn’t seem to be available in Ubuntu 19.10
Look for it in the Ubuntu Software “store.” It’s in there.
The actual command for installation of the dconf tools is
sudo apt install dconf-editor.
Thanks.
Try this.
sudo apt-get install dconf-editor
Thanks
